Longhirst Hall consists of 2 courses: The Dawson and The Lakes (which were very aptly named). Some of our members opted to stay and play on The Lakes course the night before the event, giving them a head start. Running out of balls was a big concern though – over 80,000 balls a year are retrieved from the lakes on this course, and our party certainly added to this number!

We began the event in the clubhouse with coffee/tea and sandwiches, before venturing out onto the easier of the two courses – The Dawson. The competition for the day was a 4BBB. We always try to ensure that people get to play with different partners, which usually proves interesting. On this occasion, Victoria & Kevin proved to be a dynamic duo, winning with ? points.

The following day we opted for an Am Am. We anxiously waited for the late arrivals, last seen at the bar at 3.30am. There was no need to worry though, they arrived raring to go and ready for the challenge of The Lakes which lay ahead, albeit looking a little tired.

The winning combination of Pat, Sue , Phil & Mike were the overall winners with ? points. After coffee and prize-giving, it was time to say goodbye, but the atmosphere was upbeat, with cries of “see you at Rockliffe!” Once again, new members joined us and new friendships were forged. Thank you “TOTS” members for making it such an enjoyable event.
